Ballinger's Sydney Bowman came the closest however. She took third place in the 1600m run with a stress fracture, finished in third with a 5:41.44 - 12 seconds faster than her Area Meet time of 5:54.14.

Freshman Chelsea Martinez failed to advance from the Region Meet after winning the Area Meet in the discus with a throw of 108’10”. The Ballinger Lady Cat Elyssa Korn-Flores finished in fifth place in the 200m dash finals Friday with a time of 26.53.

"We had a great group of girls that worked hard every day and gave you everything they have," said Coach Chelsy Lipsey. "We have a few seniors that really stepped up big time this year for us and we will miss them tremendously next year. I'm really proud of every single girl and everything they were able to accomplish this year and it's been a fun year!"

Senior Ty Sensabaugh failed to advance in the high jump from Regionals after winning the District Meet with a jump of 6’0”. He did not place. Senior Luke Huston failed to advance in the triple jump and the boys’ 4x200m eelay in which he is the first leg.

After turning in the third fastest time(40.39) in Friday’s 300m hurdle prelims, Edgar Nunez finished seventh in the finals Saturday. The Ballinger 4x400m relay team in which Nunez runs the first leg also failed to advance after turning in the eighth and final qualifier time in the prelims of 3:30.28. The relay team failed to place.
