GRAPE CREEK - Keynan Gonzalez struck out Chase Stroud to get the last out of the game, as three pitchers teamed up to a throw a no-hitter in the Ballinger Bearcats' 6-4 defeat over Grape Creek on Friday, April 20.

A six-run lead in the fifth inning was just enough for Ballinger Bearcats to hold off Grape Creek for the victory. Grape Creek scored three runs in the failed comeback on a in the fifth, a walk by Koby Hasty in the sixth, and a walk by Gavin Vargas in the sixth.

The Bearcats got things moving in the first inning. Jon Marcon drove in one when he singled.

Jorian Fuentes was credited with the victory for the Bearcats. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out eight and walking one. Cody Harral and Gonzalez entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Hasty took the loss for Grape Creek. He allowed four hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out 12.

Marcon, Gonzalez, Cody Daily, and Harral each collected one hit to lead the Bearcats to victory. The Bearcats tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Jon Binder led the way with four.

The Bearcats were slated to play Sonora in Sonora on Tuesday, April 24.
