The Winters Blizzards backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ozona Lions, 72-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Winters upgrades its record to 6-9 on the season. During the first quarter, Winters led by scoring 17 points to Ozona's eight points. Winter kept the momentum going in the second quarter, scoring 26 points to Ozona's 16 points.

The Blizzards continued the lead in the third quarter scoring 14 points over Ozona's 11 points. In the fourth quarter, Ozona bounced back leading with 25 points to 15 points scored by the Blizzards. However, that was not enough to take the win.

Alex Salas was selected the player of the game for the Blizzards.

The Blizzards would go on the narrowly lose a bout with Eldorado Friday with a final score of 52-53 in the heated match.
