The Winters Lady Blizzards hosted the Forsan Lady Buffs Friday night and were not treated well by the visitors, as Forsan defeated Winters, 37-21.

The Winters Lady Blizzards hosted the Forsan Lady Buffs Friday night and were not treated well by the visitors, as Forsan defeated Winters, 37-21.

The Lady Blizzards came out flat, falling behind 17-2 in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Winters battled back to cut the lead to 22-12 at halftime. In the third, Forsan extended its lead to 33-15. In the final period, Winters outscored the Lady Buffs, 6-4, for the final margin. Aimee Green was the leading scorer with eight points to go along with four steals. The Lady Blizzards are now 16-12 on the season and 3-4 in district play.

In the JV game, the Lady Blizzards lost 39-16. Gracie Reyes had eight points, while Jezebel Gonzalez had six.

In JH action, the Winters Lady Breezes 8th grade defeated Irion County’s 8th grade 21-16. Tori Campos had eight points, while Saleen Jalomo had seven.

Winters played Ozona Tuesday night in Winters, then travel to Eldorado on Friday.
