The Winters Lady Blizzards played in the Anson Lions Club Tournament over the Christmas break, winning only one game out of four. Winters opened up the tournament with a 67-54 loss to the Whitney Lady Cats.

Winters opened up the tournament with a 67-54 loss to the Whitney Lady Cats. Monique Carrillo had 14 points, while Karlee Busher added 12 points and nine rebounds. Brenna Knight had nine points.

In their second game, the Lady Blizzards lost, 38-29, to the host Anson Lady Tigers. Carrillo had 16 points and eight rebounds. In their third game, Winters lost to Iowa Park, 35-23. Busher had 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Marley Smith had six points and six rebounds. In their final game at the tournament, the Lady Blizzards defeated S & S Consolidated, 35-30. Carrillo had 12 points, while Busher had nine points and 13 rebounds.

The win improved the Lady Blizzards’ record to 14-9 on the season, equaling their win total from last year with 12 games to play.

The Lady Blizzards returned to District 7-2A on January 2, as they hosted Eldorado, and January 5, when they travel to Christoval.
