“They are pretty tough - they played a great game,” Coach Stacy Smalley said. “We had one quarter where we couldn’t resume our lead but overall our kids played great.”

During pool play, the Lady Cats defeated Coleman JV 45-30 and San Saba 50-48. They had a final win of 35-32 against Eastland in the championship bracket. This brings the Lady Cats to a 11-5 record this season.

The Lady Cats took on the Bangs Lady Dragons on Tuesday and are set take on Abilene Cooper Friday. The Lady Cougars inched in a 42-45 win against the Lady Cats during the Ballinger Classic so the team has an idea what they are up against.

“They (Cooper) applied pressure got a few steals from us and turned the game around,” Smalley said.

Coming in to the Friday’s game, Smalley said the team will be ready.

“We need to handle the pressure late in the game,” Smalley said. “We got a lot of experience this weekend and hopefullly they will handle that better when Cooper presses them.”
