Skylar Stilwell pumped in a team-high of 31 points Tuesday night to help lead the Stephenville boys basketball team to a 78-74 road victory over Dublin.
Coach Bill Brooks’ Yellow Jackets (3-2) reeled off the final nine points of the game after trailing by five points with 2 minutes left.
Stilwell was red-hot all night, sinking 12 of his 14 shot attempts overall and 3 of 5 from 3-point range.
Teammates Braden Hayes and Mason Holstein were next, with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
The Class 2A Lions outscored the Yellow Jackets 15-13 in the opening quarter, and led 39-34 at halftime.
Stephenville had a 28-20 edge in the third quarter to gain a 62-59 lead going into the fourth quarter before falling behind again, then rallying.
The Yellow Jackets had a huge advantage in their team shooting, hitting 64 percent compared to 34 percent for the Lions, and had a 40-29 margin in team rebounding. Quade Griffin led the Jackets in rebounds with 7 and Hayes added 6.
Stephenville also had a notable edge at the free throw line, hitting 17 of 27 while Dublin made 6 of 7.
The Jackets are playing in the Brock Basketball Classic, Thursday through today, Dec. 2.
