Years ago I was on the way to the hospital to visit my dad who was in the emergency room, I started talking to the cab driver. I told him that my father was in very serious condition and might not live. But I also told him I had some peace of mind if God called him home because my dad had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior years ago, (1 John 2:25).

I saw a change in my dad’s life after he accepted Christ, (1 John 2:28 &29) because he stopped the getting drunk and drinking, (1 John 1:5-7). He was a kind loving father before accepting Christ but I noticed that he seemed to love us even more and was especially more loving toward my mother, (1John 4:7&8).

When we had family get togethers, there was a different atmosphere, better fellowship, more love, sweeter talk and no alcohol. He had very little interest in going to church before but afterwards he would put on his suit and take my mother to church almost every Sunday. I know my grandmother prayed for us many years that we would accept Christ as our Savior and I would encourage anyone who has a loved one who does not have any interest in God or spiritual things, to pray for them, (James 5:16). It takes the work of God to change a person’s heart. See you in church next Sunday. Brother J
