I had been visiting my brother and sister in law but I had a plane to catch to return home. I knew my flight was that afternoon and I thought I had plenty of time but I was mistaken. We jumped in my brother’s pickup and frantically drove to the airport. I got out and ran to get in line but I forgot to check my bags so I had to go back, check my bags.

When I got to the security checkpoint there were all kinds of delays. I was finally allowed to go to the gate to board the plane but when I got there they had closed the door on the plane and it was backing out. I stood there helpless and saddened as I watched my plane pull away from the loading area and finally take off. I was the only one left at the gate.

I realized that many people are going to miss heaven because they are not ready or they think they have plenty of time or they may not really care. If we haven’t repented of our sins, (Matthew 3:2, acts 17:30, 26:20) and called upon Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior we don’t even have a ticket and have no hope of ever seeing heaven, (John 3:16-21,14:6). We are also warned to be very watchful, ready and faithful, (Matthew 24:42-46). Don’t miss the greatest flight ever. See you in church next Sunday.
