Jovita Lopez, 86, formerly of Winters, TX, went home into Jesus’ arms on June 22, 2018, in Abilene, TX.

Jovita was born May 2, 1 932, in Corpus Christi, TX to Juan and Rebecca Lopez. She married Felix Juan Aguero, and together, they raised six loving children. Jovita is preceded in death by Felix Juan Aguero, her parents, Juan and Rebecca Lopez, her siblings, and two sons, Victor Aguero and Felix Juan Aguero Jr. Jovita was the epitome of a loving, Christian mother, grandmother and friend. While raising her children as a homemaker, she was the main support for them and loved every minute of it. The love and praise she had for God was displayed through her unconditional love for her children. They never walked away without knowing how much she loved them. The

same holds true for her grandchildren. Though there was a language barrier with many of the grandchildren, Jovita had a special way of laughing, hugging and kissing them, so they felt the true love of a grandmother. Through working at Winters Nursing Home, as well as being part of a small community, she had many friends. There was never a dull moment when she was with her friends, while playing Bingo or going out dancing. Her circle of friends always seemed to grow due in part to her love of making tamales and giving them away. She may have lost the memories of these friendships in the past several years, but her family remembers them fondly for her. The family would like to thank those who kept in touch and for the kindness and joy brought to her life.

Jovita is survived by one sister, Maria Trevino of Angelton, TX, sons, Juan Aguero and wife Rosalinda of Abilene, TX, Marcos Aguero and wife Ada of Fort Myers, FL, Valerio Aguero of Irving, TX, as well as her two daughters, Tomi Garza and husband Rudy of Abilene, TX, and Olivia Sanchez and husband Salvador of San Angelo, TX. Jovita is also survived by 1 8 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great- great- grandson.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 201 8, at 6:30p.m. at Winters Funeral Home in Winters, TX. A service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 201 8, at 1 0:00a.m. at Winters Funeral Home with the internment following at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters, TX.

Pallbearers will be Jovita’s grandsons: Christopher Aguero, Jason Garza, Jacob Garza, Valerio Aguero, Jr., and great-grandsons: Julian Hernandez and Jeremy Hernandez.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice of Abilene for the wonderful care of their beautiful mom. In addition, the family would also like to thank Ashley Stroope and Antonia “Toni” Murrillo, CNAs in Abilene, for their special careand attention to our beloved Jovita. Jovita leaves behind a great legacy. One of love for one another, a belief in the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, and the power of laughter. For our hearts rest a bit easier knowing she’s in Heaven, in a sparkly angel robe, giggling away with Jesus and all those who went before her.
