Kay Rita Bryan Black, 81, died peacefully surrounded by family, love, and prayer, on May 7, 2018. Kay was born to David F. and Ruby Hensley Bryan on July 11, 1936, in Wingate, Texas.

Kay is survived by brother Jack D. Hall of Abilene, brother-in-law Bobby Black and wife Susie of Ballinger, sister-in-law Virginia Black of Winters, and special cousin Melva Rogers. She also leaves behind her daughters, Tanna Jaquess and Tom of San Angelo, Lisa Marks and Ricky of Brownwood, Gena King and Robert of Ballinger, Susie Bryan and Robby of Ballinger, and Anna Marie Miller of Abilene. And they gave Kay her joys, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kay’s profession was as homemaker to five daughters and husband, Gerald. She enjoyed spending time with her girls, especially loving their getaways to Fredericksburg and other Texas hotspots. She also loved playing Bridge with her friends from the Bronte Bridge Club on Tuesdays.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents, brother Edgar I. Hall Jr., husband Gerald, and brothers-in-law Ross Black and wife Vida, Doug, and Jimmy Black.

The family would like to thank the San Angelo medical community, especially Dr. John Stephenson and the nurses at Shannon and Community hospitals, who cared for Kay these last five years. And special thanks are due to the Lyndale Assisted Living staff and aides, who lovingly helped Kay, and to her good friends who scheduled many ‘dates,’ with her for fun outings.
