Betty June Paschal went to her heavenly home Monday night after being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty June Paschal went to her heavenly home Monday night after being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born April 2, 1934 in Shep to J.H. and Nona Christian and was a lifelong resident. She attended school in Shep, Abilene and Blackwell. She played basketball and was a cheerleader. She married Kobert Paschal on June 14, 1951 in Shep. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death in 2005. She worked as caregiver at Abilene State School for 10 years retiring in 1998. Betty loved music and taught piano lessons to many. She was a Sunday School Teacher and played the piano and organ for the churches she attended. She worked several places in Winters before opening Chapel Yarn and Gifts and also became a Sears Catalog Order Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winters.

She is survived by 2 children: Keith Paschal and wife Shelia of Winters and Janie Davidson and husband Jay of Abilene. 2 sisters: Margaret Grisham of Blackwell and Johnnie Mae Raney of Shep. 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kobert and 1 grandson, Owen Shane Paschal.

The family will receive friends at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday February 22, 2018 at Winters Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday February 23, 2018 at the Wingate Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Shep Cemetery directed by Winters Funeral Home.
