Richard G. “Dick” Ryan passed away on February 15, 2018 at home. Born in Rochester, New York on January 19, 1939 he joined the United States Coast Guard in 1957 and served 7 years at the Port of Miami.

Richard G. “Dick” Ryan passed away on February 15, 2018 at home. Born in Rochester, New York on January 19, 1939 he joined the United States Coast Guard in 1957 and served 7 years at the Port of Miami. In 1964 he transferred to the United States Air Force and continued in the service until he retired in 1979 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a proud veteran of the Viet Nam War. He married Cookie Cook on July 20, 1982 in Winters. Richard served several years on the Winters police department. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, he was also an avid gun enthusiast, hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Cookie Ryan. His children, Robert Ryan, Jim Ryan and Kelly Ryan. Step-children, Dawn Green and husband Wayne, Jill Monroe and husband Nate and Kristi Traylor. 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Thelma Ryan and 1 granddaughter, Kei Lei Ryan.
