On Friday, September 15, 2017, our dear and precious “Nana” walked through the vail of this temporary life and into the eternal life that had been prepared for her from before the foundation of the world.

She was born Thelma Louise Keeney on December 7, 1924 to Alex and Ruth Keeney of Merittstown, Pennsylvania.

Thelma or Nana as we call her, was the youngest and most precocious of Alex and Ruth’s children. She enjoyed gardening, spending time in her father’s garage, (whom she adored) and playing the trombone in the high school band.

Nana married Wallace Lester Taylor on June 13, 1942, with whom she enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

Nana excelled in the field of bookkeeping, and served as comptroller in several multi-million dollar corporations. She served as president of the Dallas county professional business women’s association. Nana was an active member of First Baptist Church of Winters. For the last three and a half years she enjoyed the excellent care and support of the Winters Senior Citizens Nursing Home where she served as president of the resident’s association.

Nana is survived by her son, Barry Taylor and wife Susie of Winters. Her daughter, Rene’ Atlas of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is survived by four grandchildren, Sherry Hanson of Olathe, Kansas, Allison Threadgill and husband Sam of Alto, Texas, Adam Taylor and wife of Bria of Glenpool, Oklahoma and Aaron Taylor and wife Nicole of Tuscola, Texas. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Nana was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace, a daughter, Barbara Taylor, granddaughter, Barbara Robertson, great-granddaughter Crystal Robertson and son-in-law, Elliot Atlas.

The family received friends at 6:00 P.M. Sunday September 17, 2017 at Winters Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday September 18, 2017 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday September 19, 2017 at Edom cemetery near Canton, Texas directed by Winters Funeral Home.
