A memorial service for Harvey Doyle Hantsche, 81, of Point, will be held Saturday July 15, 2017 at 2pm at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home located at 803 Texas St Emory, TX 75440.

Mr. Hantsche died on June 22, 2017, in Tyler, at Hospice of East Texas. He was born May 21, 1936, in Winters, to Theodore and Ethel Vogler Hantsche.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and in the U.S. Navy. During his working years, he worked in construction as an iron worker. He belonged to the Iron Workers Union. Mr. Hantsche was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Sheila M. Wittenmyer (Roberson) in Point, on April 13, 2002. Harvey was of the Lutheran faith.

Mr. Hantsche is survived by his wife of Point; brother, Harry Arlis Hantsche and wife Helen of Arlington; sons, Bryon Hantsche and wife Kelly of Rice, and Zane Hantsche and wife Diana of Fullerton, Calif.; Daughters, Rebecca Vaughn and husband Jimmy of Kingsland, Wendy Johnson and husband Robert of McKinney, Sheri Moore of Garland, and Lori Moore of Dallas; grandchildren, Aaron Hantsche, Lydia Hantsche, Michael Hantsche, Eric Hantsche, Nicole Snart, Christopher Luna, Andrew Johnson, Robert Charles (Trey) Johnson, Kaylie Austin, McKenzie Austin, Lucas Sloan and George Logan Sloan; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hantsche and Nevaeh Williams; faithful little companion, Susie; members of his AA group of Emory; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted Hantsche, Jr.; sister, Margaret Jetton; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
