WINTERS - Athletes were honored during the Winters High School Athletic Banquet held Thursday, May 17 at the Special Events Center.

Winters High School honored all athletes that compete in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, softball, tennis and track. Winters athletics had its best year in recent memory with four teams making the playoffs this year – baseball, girls basketball, football, and softball; one region qualifier in cross country; 13 region qualifiers in track and three region qualifiers in golf.

"We have had the best year overall in athletics since I have been here going from one team making the playoffs and three regional qualifiers in 2017 to four teams making the playoffs and 13 regional qualifiers this year,' Winters AD Coach Matt McCarty said. "That difference comes from old fashioned hard work."

The Scott Lange Award, in honor of a Winters student who was tragically killed in a car accident two years ago was presented to Aimee Green and Patrick Reyes.

The Winters Athletic Booster Club Scholarship of $750 was awarded to Cha-Cha Lovelace and Ashton Hadlock.

Ronald and Mary Ann Presley were presented the Winters Athletic Booster Club Fan of the Year award.
