BALLINGER - The Carnegie Library of Ballinger is rolling out their summer reading program titled “Libraries Rock” which is going to provide educational entertainment for children through reading and music with a variety of fun activities slated.

BALLINGER - The Carnegie Library of Ballinger is rolling out their summer reading program titled “Libraries Rock” which is going to provide educational entertainment for children through reading and music with a variety of fun activities slated.

Get ready for summer fun with a variety of special storytellers, and plays filled with music and other activities for all of the children to enjoy. The summer reading program is open to all children ages 3 and up.

Storyteller Bernadette Nason will be the first special guest and she is slated for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13. Nason is an award-winning English storyteller/actor and author and performs all over the world. She is well-known both for her spirited re-telling of multicultural folktales, and for personal stories taken from the places she’s lived: England, Africa, Arabia and America. She appeared in the movie, Miss Congeniality, and recently published her first grown-up book, “Tea in Tripoli”…and she's coming to your library!

Throughout the summer more music, entertainment and fun is in store with the Repco Wildlife Encounters slated for June 18, The Rockin’ Balloon Show on tap for June 24 and Majik Theatre troupe on stage July 2.

The Summer Reading Program is funded by the Texas Commission on the Arts. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to attend.

2 p.m. Monday, June 18 - Repco Wildlife Encounters: SO MUCH FUN!

2 p.m. Monday, June 25 - The Rockin’ Balloon Show! Balloons stories, puppets, magic & fun!!

10:30 a. m. Monday, July 2 - Majik Theatre will present, “Goldilocks and The Three Bears,” a live theater performance.

10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 - Drusilla Woods-Storyteller Unleashed!

10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16 - Music, stories, crafts and fun!!

10:30 a.m. Monday, July 23 - Music, crafts and fun!! Last Day of Summer Reading Program
