This was the last of the hard fought three game series in which an eight-run fourth inning led the Bi-District Champion Bearcats to an 8-2 victory earlier Saturday. Jon Marcon, DJ Cavazos, Jorian Fuentes, Cody Daily, Tyler Lange, and Caleb Ornelaz each drove in runs during the winning inning.

On Friday the Bearcats fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-0 loss to Shallowater. During the last game, pitching was strong on both sides. Shallowater pitchers struck out five, while the Bearcats sat down six.

The Bearcats got on the board in the first inning. Keynan Gonzalez doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Bearcats tied things up at two.

Criden Jaskson led things off on the hill for Shallowater. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one.

Cody Daily started the game for the Bearcats allowing two hits and zero runs over two innings, walking one. Gonzalez threw six innings out of the bullpen.

The Bearcats collected six hits on the day. Edgar Nunez and Gonzalez each managed multiple hits for the team. Gonzalez and Nunez each collected two hits to lead the Bearcats.

The Bearcats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Cole Zentner led the way with two. The Bearcats were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jon Marcon had the most chances in the field with six.
