WINTERS - On Tuesday May 1, the Winters Junior High Honor Society held an induction ceremony to celebrate and welcome 14 new members. The inductees were welcomed by family members, friends, administrators, teachers and friends.

WINTERS - On Tuesday May 1, the Winters Junior High Honor Society held an induction ceremony to celebrate and welcome 14 new members. The inductees were welcomed by family members, friends, administrators, teachers and friends.

The ceremony began with a welcome and candle lighting by advisor, Karen Broyles.Abanea Cortez lead the audience in the pledge of allegiance.

Current members, President Jon Busher, Vice President Dayvin Oats, and Secretary Destiny Chausse along with members Connor Garcia and Abanea Cortez described the four characteristics of NJHS including scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Candidates presented for membership included Ashlyn Richards, Gracie Gartman, Nick Trevino, Kate Zachary, Mikaela Aguero, Myah Payne, Malichi Alvarado, Aidan Bryant, Payton Cortez, Payton Duggan, Winnie Lin, Kaci Lindley, Yuying Lin, and Rylee Sanchez.

The group accepted the nomination by stating the NJHS pledge. A reception for new members, family and friends was held immediately following in the library.
