BALLINGER - A truck owned by Toliver Brothers in Ballinger and reported stolen, was recovered in Austin during the search of a home by the organized crime unit of the Austin Police Department.

The 2015 GMC Sierra double cab pickup reported stolen from Toliver Brothers in Ballinger in January was officially recovered on Tuesday in Austin. Owner Joseph Toliver picked up the truck Wednesday.

Ballinger Police Chief Stan Maresch said the Austin PD had not released the details of the arrest, including the identity of the person who was driving the truck.

Maresch took inventory on all of the items recovered with the truck on Thursday morning. Items found included electronics, jewelry, cell phones and tools.

Maresch said the truck was recovered after Austin police ran a check on the license plate during the search and the truck came up stolen. Maresch said it was unclear whether the truck was stolen from the Toliver Brothers lot or from the auction lot in Abilene.

Toliver thanked the Ballinger Police Department for their roll in helping to recover the vehicle valued at $36,900.

"We can't thank them enough - they did a great job," Toliver said.
