Thieves will use any opportunity to steal whatever is available - from lawn equipment to change in your ash tray.

Here are some tips to help keep your stuff safe:

- Electronics: Write the serial number: down, take a photo of the equipment and keep it secured. In order for the police to find the item we need a serial number, description, and model. *This can, and should, be done for any of your valuables.

- Vehicles: Lock your vehicle when you are away from it, any time! Many thieves will just "pop the handle" to see if it's locked. If it is they will keep going. Remember, they are looking for quick and easy access.

- Personals: Take valuables out of sight in the vehicles or out of the vehicle. The thieves will look through the window to see if it's worth it to break the window.

- Lawn equipment: Put away all your stuff when not in use. Working on the lawn is a hard job and sometimes at the end of long day you will say to yourself, "I will put it up in the morning".... and the next day, your stuff is gone. Take the time to lock everything up.

Theft is a crime of opportunity so don't make it easy and don't give criminals any reason to think you are not aware of them.
