LAREDO -- Ryan Rogers hit three home runs and Lubbock Christian University beat Texas A&M International 14-2 and 10-2 Friday, the doubleheader sweep extending the Chaparrals' winning streak to 11 games.

LCU (12-4) and TAMIU (7-8) finish the series with another doubleheader at noon Saturday. Both teams are Heartland Conference members, but this weekend's games are not part of the Heartland Conference schedule.

Rogers slugged a pair of two-run homers in the opener, and the Chaps also got two-run drives from Andrew Pratt and Keaton Greenwalt. Andres Negron got in on the act with a solo shot.

Rogers finished 4 for 4 with three runs scored. LCU pounded out 16 hits, two each from James Hardberger, Braden Hayward, Greenwalt and Negron.

That made it easy for Chaps starting pitcher Ryan Johnson (3-0), who went 5 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on seven hits.

Reagan Lucia retired the last batter in the sixth with the bases loaded, and Colton Blackford worked a scoreless seventh.

In game two, Scotland Church hit a three-run homer in the second inning as part of a four-RBI performance, and Pratt went 4 for 5 with three runs batted in.
