The Denison City Council is expected to revisit the future of a building at 2301 S. Austin Ave. when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday at Denison City Hall. The council previously heard a report from the city building official on unsafe conditions at the former commercial space in early February, but tabled the request in order to give the owner time to develop a plan to repair the site.
In documents for Monday’s meeting, city staff said the plans for repairing the structure are not sufficient, and are recommending demolition of the structure.
Other items that will be considered include:
• a conditional use permit for mini-warehouse and self-storage use on a property located at 4527 Texoma Pkwy.; and
• the designation of downtown Denison as the minimum property standards focus area for 2018.
In a closed, executive session the council will discuss pending litigation regarding 715 W. Sears before reconvening in open session to take any necessary action.
