The Ballinger Lady Cats had a very good year, taking home a second Bi-District championship in two years.

So it is no surprise nine of the standouts on the team this year received All District honors, which are bestowed upon the players by the coaches in the district.

Coach Stacy Smalley said she was very proud of her players this season. The Lady Cats dominated throughout the season, losing only to Wall in District play and finally with a 45-24 loss to Candadian after their 58-19 win against Presidio for the Bi-District trophy.

“I’m really proud of how we came through this year because they were pushed pretty good,” Smalley said. “They took some tough coaching and handled it very well. It is a testament to their work ethic.”

All District honors went to Ballinger junior Kinlee Bowman named Co-Offensive MVP and senior Vivian Guerrero, Newcomer of the Year. First team All District picks included Kinley Gray, Sydney Bowman and Brenda Martinez. Second team All District selections from the Lady Cats included Kenzey Sanchez and Bryla Perkins and honorable mentions went to Lauren Landers and Jessica Castleberry.

“We are proud of the off season effort they put into it,” Smalley said.
