The Ballinger police arrested two on felony drug charges on Wednesday morning.
According to Chief Stan Maresch, officers gathered information through undercover operation in which an undercover officer negotiated the purchase of illegal narcotics. That began at around 4 a.m.
The undercover officer was reportedly shown the narcotics by the suspects and were later determined to be methamphetamine.  Then he signaled awaiting officers and they executed the arrest at 7 a.m. at the Stripes Convenience Store in Ballinger, Maresch said.
The two suspects, one male and one female, were from Abilene, Maresch said. They were booked into the Runnels County Jail, charged with manufacture and delivery of controlled substance (methamphetamine), The suspects were in possession of 12.3 grams of meth which elevated the charge to a first degree felony.
Maresch said the investigation continues.
