BALLINGER - The Ballinger Police Department has been searching for 74-year-old Gabriel Padron since Friday. He was reported missing by his family on Friday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m.

Ballinger Police Chief Stan Maresch said Padron had not been located by press time Tuesday and that no other leads had come in.

Padron was last seen at 11:30 a.m. at 1205 Largent Ave. wearing khaki pants, a black jacket and a cowboy hat. Family members said he routinely walked to the Shortstop and Allsup's on Broadway Ave.

The Ballinger Police Department, the Department of Public Safety, Runnels County Sheriff's Office and the Winters Police Department have participated in the search. On Saturday, the DPS dispatched an aircraft to search for Padron, but he was not located.

Ballinger police received several calls Friday referencing sightings of Padron locally, in Clyde and as far away as Troupe Texas, near Tyler. One caller claimed to have seen him getting into a car in Ballinger.

A Sliver Alert was not issued because Padron has not been medically diagnosed with dementia.
