ROSCOE - The Lady Blizzards competed in the Blackland Divide Tournament in Roscoe and came out the tournament champions, winning 4 of 5 games. Due to the volleyball playoffs, the tournament wound up being a six-team, double elimination tournament. In their tournament opener, the Lady Blizzards defeated Roby's JV, 55-21.

Monique Carrillo had 19 points, while Marley Smith added nine. In game two, the Lady Blizzards faced Roscoe, defeating the Plowgirls, 46-29. Karlee Busher had 14 points to go along with 14 rebounds, while Carrillo had 15 points and 10 rebounds. In game three, the Lady Blizzards defeated Paint Rock, 41-26. Carrillo had 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Smith and Busher had eight apiece.

Game four saw the Lady Blizzards face Roscoe again, this time losing 40-37. Carrillo had 12 points, while Smith and Busher both had seven. Since both teams had beaten each other, Winters and Roscoe had to play one more time for the tournament championship The Lady Blizzards won, 46-38. Busher had 14 points, while Carrillo added 10.

"I was really proud of our girls," said Lady Blizzards head coach Val Acree. "Between illness and holiday travels, we were missing some girls and needed everyone to step up and they did!"

The Lady Blizzards are now 5-3 on the season and hosted TLCA-San Angelo on Monday before breaking for the Thanksgiving holiday.
