WAXAHACHIE — The debut of the new-look Lady Indian basketball team saw nine players find the scoring column in a 10-point loss Tuesday to Cedar Hill.

Waxahachie found itself down seven points at the end of the first quarter before battling back to pull within one at the end of the third. Cedar Hill then outscored the Lady Indians 20-11 in the fourth for the 66-56 win.

Transfer senior Sarah Bush led the Lady Indians with 12 points while adding two rebounds and an assist. Diamond Atchison finished 5-of-5 from the charity stripe and 2-of-7 from the field for nine points, while Cassidy Morgan scored eight points and collected a team-high eight rebounds.

The Lady Indians also had scoring contributions from Rayna Ross (6), Jordan McGee (6), Destini Washington (5), Paris Gantt (4), Kaleah Young (3) and Mya Williams (3).

Ross added five rebounds and McGee led the Lady Indians with four assist and two steals

Waxahachie shot 39 percent from the field (17-43) and 21-of-31 from the free throw line while scoring 18 second-chance points.

The Lady Indians returned to the court Thursday for the three-day Grand Prairie tournament.
