Lions Club Homecoming Fish Fry

BALLINGER - The Ballinger Noon Lions Club will be hosting the Homecoming Fish Fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Ballinger Elementary cafeteria. The dinner will include fried fish, hush puppies and cole slaw. The cost is $10 a plate. Come out for good food and fellowship before Ballinger's first district game against Reagan County.

Annual fall festival Saturday

MORO - The Moro Volunteer Fire Department's Annual Fall Festival will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Moro VFD's station, 2718 County Road 184, approximately seven miles northwest of Bradshaw in south Taylor County. The cost is $10 a plate for adults and $5 plate for youth under 11 years of age and toddlers eat free.

The menu includes barbecue brisket, country style pork ribs and sausage with all the trimmings. Elvis Tribute artist Harvey McFadden of Hawley will provide the entertainment and a live auction will be held. There will also be a display of fire and rescue facilities and equipment. The event is held so visitors can enjoy great barbecue while listening to a super exhibition of Elvis. All proceeds provide operating funds for the Moro Volunteer Fire Department.

Lord's Acre Festival Oct. 15

BALLINGER - The First United Methodist Church of Ballinger will be hosting the annual Lord’s Acre Festival, Sunday, October 15 at 1501 N. Broadway in Ballinger. A Bar-B-Q Brisket and Sausage lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with dine-in, drive-through and take-out available. Activities starting at 10 a.m. will include a silent auction, Country Store and Christmas Store.
