WINTERS - Three Winters High School graduates will be recognized for their achievements in life during WHS Homecoming festivities on Friday, October 20. The 2017 honorees are Bailey Mayo, WHS Class of 1954 from Levelland, Barbara Baldwin Pearce, WHS Class of 1964 from Georgetown and Terry Gerhart, WHS Class of 1979 from The Woodlands.

WINTERS - Three Winters High School graduates will be recognized for their achievements in life during WHS Homecoming festivities on Friday, October 20.  The 2017 honorees are Bailey Mayo, WHS Class of 1954 from Levelland, Barbara Baldwin Pearce, WHS Class of 1964 from Georgetown and Terry Gerhart, WHS Class of 1979 from The Woodlands.

Gerhart made energy a career

Terry Gerhart was born and raised in Winters and graduated from Winters High School in 1979.  The oldest of three sons of Naomi and the late Milton Gerhart, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a MBA from Southern Methodist University.  He began his career with ARCO Oil and Gas Company as a petroleum engineer holding various engineering, operations, and management positions of increasing importance.  He was part of the team which started the U.S. independent Vastar Resources, worked later as an executive for BP, and then with a technology based exploration start-up company before joining Noble Energy.  During his career, he has worked all aspects of engineering, operations, and management of upstream onshore and offshore businesses in the domestic U.S. and in over 30 countries internationally. 

While at Noble Energy, Gerhart has been the executive responsible for Noble’s businesses in Africa, Eastern Mediterranean, Global Gas Monetization, Latin America, UK, and Asia. 

He is currently the senior vice president of Global Operations Services which includes responsibility for all company drilling operations, major projects, supply chain, operations excellence, corporation aviation, and engineering development.  In addition, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Noble Midstream Partners and led the initial public offering creating the publicly traded midstream company which is listed on the NYSE.  Gerhart serves on the Board of Directors of Noble Midstream Partners, Industry Advisory Board for the Texas A&M Petroleum Engineering Department, and the Board of the Offshore Energy Center.

He and his wife, Libby have one grown daughter, Hope.  Terry and Libby reside in The Woodlands, Texas.
