BALLINGER - Elections are slated in Runnels County on Tuesday Nov, 7. Five candidates have filed to run for four seats on the Ballinger Memorial Hospital District Board.

Incumbent and Board President Mike Dankworth and incumbenbt Bill Hunter will be running along with Dr. Bradly Bundrant, Brenda Joyce Waterfill and Bryan Jennings.

All of the candidates were asked to fill out a questionnaire and candidate profile. Early voting begins Monday, Oct. 23.

Name: Mike Dankworth

Occupation: Owner/Operator Dankworth Packing Company, Inc.

Education: Graduate Ballinger High School , Bachelor of Science Degree, Southwest Texas State University.

Clubs, organizations: Past President of Southwest Meat Association, chairman of Administrative Council, First United Methodist Church of Ballinger.

Family: My family has been a part of the Ballinger community for approximately 90 years and have owned and operated Dankworth Packing Company, Inc. for the past 70 years.

What are the most important issues you want to address if elected or re-elected to the board of the Ballinger Memorial Hospital District?

The most important issue to address, if elected, is to assure the continued financial stability, assist in plans that promote the longevity of the Hospital District, and additionally maintain and add appropriate services offered for our citizens.

What do you think you can bring to the district if elected?

I bring many years of business experience and my knowledge gained from 15 years of prior service as a board member of the Hospital District.

What do you feel qualifies you for a position on the Ballinger Memorial Hospital District Board?

From my years of service on the Board, I have developed a substantial understanding of the financial system in which health care operates. I have also developed many relationships with health care service providers across Texas who can assist our District in our operations.
