WINTERS - Lone Star Diner & Video in Winters is now under new ownership officials with the Winters Area Business and Industrial Corporation announced last week.

Laura Day, executive director of WABIC presented a plaque welcoming new owner Doug McLaughlin as the new owner of the business, which has been operating in Winters for a number of years. Lone Star Diner & Video is located at 200 Tinkle St.

McClaughlin has been busy cleaning and revamping the kitchen to ensure the freshest and best quality meals, Day said.

"He is now going forward with several remodeling projects to improve the dining experience for his patrons," Day said.

Meals are made to order at the Lone Star Diner & Video, with fresh, not frozen ingredients and "hand-made care," McLaughlin insists.

The daily menu features appetizers, salads, onion rings, hamburgers,a children's menu and entrees like catfish, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, tacos and other local favorites.

The business opens at 10:30 a.m. Monday-Saturday and the kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m. on those days and the business closes ta 9 p.m. They are open from 12-6 p.m. Sunday, with call in drive through orders available from 6-9 p.m. The gaming area is open until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Lone Star Diner & Video also offers the most current video rentals. No smoking is allowed in the diner, and the building has been equipped with commercial grade ionizers for air purification.

"We are very proud to welcome this new business and new owner to the Winters community," Day said.
