BALLINGER – The Ballinger Police Department was busy over the weekend making arrests in two unrelated cases.

On Saturday, July 22, police arrested a teen and charged him with indecency.

Isreal A. Fuentes, 17, was arrested and charged with indecency with a child, for an incident involving a 10-year-old female that police said occurred within the city limits of Ballinger.

Ballinger Police Chief Stan Maresch said the child made an outcry to her parents and that the parents reported the incident to police.

“Then a warrant was issued for his arrest,” Maresch said.

Fuentes was arrested on Friday, July 22 and remained in custody Tuesday on a $30,000 bond.

In an unrelated incident, a Ballinger woman was arrested for possession of a controlled substance Sunday.

Police arrested Stella Nombrano, 55, of Ballinger after pulling her over for fictitious license plates.

Nombrano was pulled over in the 100 block of North 7th Street on Sunday. She gave police consent to search the vehicle, where less than one gram of methamphetamine was found.

She was issued citations for no drivers license, no insurance and fictitious plates.

She was released Saturday after posting a  $50,000 bond.
