CLOUDCROFT, NM – A number of Runnels County youth attended the 4-H Leadership Lab held June 27-30 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.

CLOUDCROFT, NM – A number of Runnels County youth attended the 4-H Leadership Lab held June 27-30 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.

The District 7 Leadership Lab included many activities, such as the ropes course and obstacle courses and other leadership building exercises such as the trust fall.

The youth camped at the Aspendale Baptist Church Camp and they were totally off the grid, prohibited from bringing cell phones or any electronic devices.

The Runnels County 4-H group included lead by Runnels County Extension Agent Garrett Cline, included Gayle Kalina of Miles, Allie Kalina, Regan Smithwick, Trevor Gibbs, Shane Flanagan and Avery Flanagan.

“It was a great chance for our youth to gain valuable leadership skills while networking with their peers from around our district area,” Cline said.

Cline was proud to announce that Shane Flanagan, was elected to a District Council Office as third vice president.

“It was a week filled with a lot of fun, friendship and learning,” Cline said.
